OmniPad terms and conditions

Last updated 7 October 2026.

These are the terms for using OmniPad, the iPad study notebook made by an independent developer in Canada (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them, and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app from the App Store. If you do not agree, please do not use OmniPad.

1. Who can use OmniPad

You must be 18 or older to create an account or use OmniPad. The AI services the tutor relies on are offered for adults only, so OmniPad is too. By signing in you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we may close it.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for the device and the sign-in method you use. You can sign out at any time from Settings; signing out never deletes your notebooks. You can delete your account in Settings › Account & plan, which also asks Apple to forget OmniPad’s sign-in if you used Apple.

3. Your notes are yours

Everything you write, draw, import, record or type in OmniPad belongs to you. We claim no rights over it. Your notebooks are stored on your iPad and, if you allow it, in the private part of your own iCloud account. We cannot read them.

If you record a lecture or anyone else speaking, getting their permission, and following your school’s rules and the law where you are, is up to you. The same goes for anything you import: only import material you have the right to use.

4. Plans, free trials, credits and billing

OmniPad is offered on two subscription plans, Lite and Pro, each billed monthly or yearly. Pro includes everything Lite does and adds Think harder (the tutor on a stronger model), lecture recording with its summaries, and personalized exam prep, and it gives more AI credits a month.

5. The AI tutor

The tutor is a study aid, not a teacher. Its answers are generated by an AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or confidently mistaken. Check everything before you rely on it, hand it in, or use it for anything where an error matters; it is not professional, medical, legal or financial advice. Do not use the tutor to complete assessed work in a way your school forbids; you are responsible for your school’s academic-integrity rules.

The tutor sends the question you type — and, when you ask about your page or screen, a picture of it — to our relay and on to the AI provider named in our privacy policy. Do not send anything you are not allowed to share, or anyone else’s personal information.

6. Community

Community, where students share notebooks with classmates, is not available at launch. If it is turned on later, joining will be optional; what you share will be visible to other OmniPad users, you may only share notes you made or have the right to share, and you must follow the community guidelines. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: we can remove content or suspend community access for anyone who breaks them.

7. What you may not do

Do not use OmniPad to break the law, to harass anyone, to share other people’s personal information, to distribute material you do not have the right to, to try to get the tutor to produce harmful content, or to interfere with the service (for example by probing, scraping, or overloading the relay, or by sharing ways to get credits or plans without paying).

8. Third-party content

OmniPad’s floating browser and video windows show websites and videos (such as YouTube) that belong to others and are governed by their own terms. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep OmniPad running, but it is provided “as is”: we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults, and features may change or be withdrawn. Keep your own backups of anything important (Settings › Storage can do it for you). To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or lost grades arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for OmniPad in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be limited.

10. Ending things

You can stop using OmniPad at any time: delete your account in Settings, delete the app, and cancel your plan through Apple. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or on our website before the change applies. If you keep using OmniPad after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using it and cancel your plan.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away the protection of the consumer laws of the place where you live.
