Privacy Policy

Lookscend ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Lookscend mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information we collect

When you use Lookscend, we collect the following information:

Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from the provider. We do not receive or store your password.
Profile information: Gender and age that you provide during onboarding. This information is used for analysis and, if you opt in to community ratings, displayed on your rating card.
Photos: Face photos you capture for analysis (front, side, and 3/4 angles). These are stored securely and used for facial analysis to generate your Objective Score. Photos are only shown to other users if you explicitly opt in to community ratings (see "Community ratings and your consent" below).
Ratings: If you opt in to community ratings, we collect scores and trait tags you assign when rating other users, and scores and trait tags other users assign to you.
Usage data: Routine completion data, streak information, and general app usage patterns.
Subscription data: Your subscription status is managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not directly collect or store payment information.

Community ratings and your consent

Lookscend offers a community rating feature where real people rate your appearance anonymously. This feature is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent.

Opt-in only: Your photos are never shown to other users unless you choose to opt in to community ratings. After receiving your Objective Score, you will be asked whether you want to participate. You are not required to opt in to use the app.
What other users see: If you opt in, other Lookscend users will see your face photos, gender, and age in the rating queue. Your name, email, and identity are never shared with raters.
Ratings are anonymous: You will not know who rated you, and raters will not know your identity.
You can opt out anytime: You can disable community ratings at any time from the Profile settings screen. When you opt out, your photos are immediately removed from the rating queue. Your existing Community Score data is retained but no new ratings will be collected.
Without opting in: If you choose not to participate in community ratings, you still have full access to your Objective Score, trait breakdown, glow-up routine, and progress tracking. The Community Score feature simply remains unavailable.

How we use your information

To provide facial analysis and generate your Objective Score
To display your photos to other users in the rating queue, only if you have opted in to community ratings
To calculate your Community Score based on ratings from other users, only if you have opted in
To generate personalized glow-up routines based on your trait scores
To track your progress and streaks over time
To improve our scoring accuracy and app experience

How your photos are used

Your face photos are used in the following ways:

Facial analysis: Your photos are sent to a third-party analysis service to generate trait scores and your Objective Score. The analysis service does not retain your photos after processing. This happens for all users regardless of community rating preference.
Community ratings (opt-in only): If you have opted in, your photos are shown to other Lookscend users in the rating queue. Only your photos, gender, and age are visible — your name and email are never shown to raters. If you have not opted in, your photos are never displayed to any other user.

You can delete your photos and account at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following cases:

Facial analysis provider: Your photos are sent to OpenAI for analysis to generate your Objective Score. OpenAI's API data usage policy applies. This occurs regardless of your community rating preference.
Other users (opt-in only): If you have opted in to community ratings, your photos, gender, and age are visible to other users in the rating queue. Your identity (name, email) is never shared. If you have not opted in, no data is shared with other users.
Payment processors: Apple and Google handle subscription payments. We do not process payments directly.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access: View the personal data we hold about you through the Profile tab in the app.
Control community participation: Opt in or out of community ratings at any time from the Profile settings screen. Opting out immediately removes your photos from the rating queue.
Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data, including photos, scores, and ratings, by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

Age requirements

Lookscend is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and data immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by other means. Continued use of Lookscend after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
